If you are from the USA you will probably be familiar with the game Cornhole or Bag Toss or Bags as it is also known.
The game is really simple - throw the bean bag at the board and aim for the hole on the board.
In the official game 2 boards are used but we sell boards individually so you can practice or play a game by taking turns...it works for us
If it goes in the hole you score 3 points,
If it lands on the board you score 1 point.
If it bounces on the board and then lands on the grass ... zero points
Players alternate turns and the first to 21 wins.
A Cornhole court consists of 2 cornhole boards, a pitcher's box and foul lines, within a level rectangular playing area of 8-10 feet wide and at least 40-45 feet long.
The Pitcher's Box should be 4 feet by 3 feet at each end of the court, parallel with, and on both sides of the boards.
The Foul Lines run parallel to the front of the opposite board.
Adult foul lines are defined as an imaginary line 27 feet between the front of each board.
Junior foul lines are defined as an imaginary line 12-15 feet between the front of each board.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Players start the game at the headboard and alternate pitching all 4 of their bean bags.
Players must pitch the bean bag with an under-hand release.
Players must be within the pitcher’s box or behind the foul line when pitching.
Players then walk to the end of their lane to the other court, take score, and resume pitching back to the other court.
The first player/team to reach (or exceed) the predetermined number of 21 points, at the end of the game is the Winner!
The points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent.
Cancellation scoring is used to ensure that only one player/team can score in each round.
Bag In-The-Count (Woody) = 1point : bean bag that rests anywhere on top of the board.
Bag In-The-Hole (Cornhole) = 3 points : bean bag thrown through the hole or knocked through the hole by another bag.
Foul Bags – any bag that is neither in the hole nor on the board, or has violated rules of play.
The player/ team who scored in the preceding round, pitches first in the next round.
If no points are scored, the first pitch is retained by same player/team in previous round.
If bean bag is pitched when the player has made contact with or crossed over the foul line.
If bean bag is pitched when the player has started or stepped completely outside the pitcher’s box before the bean bag is thrown.
If bean bag is not thrown within the 20-second time limit.
If bean bag is pitched from a different pitcher’s box than the first bean bag.
If bean bag contacts the ground or any other object before landing on the board.
Any bean bag that leaves a player’s hand once the pitch has started shall count as a pitched bag, but a bean bag accidentally dropped before the final forward swing may still be pitched.
If a bean bag is removed from the board before scoring has been agreed upon:
i.The player/team that touches the bag forfeits all remaining bags and tallies the score of the bags thrown before the foul was declared.
ii.The non-offending team tallies 12 points as if they had thrown four Bag In-The-Holes during the round.
Rule violations must be spotted, and foul bag declared, and removed from the court.
Formed in 2005 in our workshop in Crumlin, Dublin, we originally made puzzles for fun and just to challenge each other at work and our friends in the pub after work. The Puzzle Co was born out of one of those random comments from a friend one day along the lines of - 'you should sell those at Christmas markets, they would be great Kris Kindle presents and stocking filers'. So that is exactly what we did.
We couldn't believe just how popular the puzzles turned out to be, and how much fun it was to sell them. Several years later, and we are still coming up with new variations on the range and adding in a few new puzzles every year...and still having fun selling them.
So much fun and great to see the family playing without a screen or phone in their hand
